ATELIER BRÜCKNER designs the Uzbekistan Pavilion at EXPO 2025 with sustainable architecture and exhibition design

"Designing Future Society for Our Lives" is the motto of the next World Expo, which will take place-from 13 April to 13 October 2025 in Osaka, Japan. ATELIER BRÜCKNER is designing the Uzbekistan Pavilion and is responsible for the sustainable architecture and exhibition. "How to live in the future and how to be happy" is Uzbekistan’s interpretation of the EXPO 2025’s motto. Our partner NÜSSLI is realising the two-storey pavilion from modular, reusable wooden elements, that can be rebuilt in Uzbekistan after the EXPO- as a studio, workshop or school.

Architecture as sculpture and connecting element

Key elements of ATELIER BRÜCKNER's architecture are the garden, the forest of columns and a sculptural connection. The landscape on the ground floor, represented by the garden, symbolises the country of Uzbekistan and its opportunities for encounters. The columns symbolise the modular structure, which is based on traditional timber craftsmanship, creating a forum for future innovation. The roof and garden are connected to the sculpture at the centre of the building. Visitors explore the Garden of Stories and the Field of Knowledge in a total of around 840 m2 of indoor and outdoor exhibition space, before meeting in an interactive garden with a café on the roof terrace.

Laboratory for a Future Society

As a "Garden of Knowledge", the pavilion stands as a symbol of a new era. It showcases Uzbekistan's projects and ideas for a transformation into a modern society. As a place of encounter and learning, it invites visitors to gather and share their ideas for a future society. The pavilion seamlessly unites Uzbekistan’s rich historical background with insights into science, innovation, transformation and the emergence of a sustainable future.

Exhibition focused on empowerment

The exhibition designed by ATELIER BRÜCKNER represents Uzbekistan’s openness and innovation, empowering lives ready for the future. As a social and educational centre of knowledge for people from all over the world, the exhibition aims to inspire and encourage visitors to improve their own lives and the lives of others.
