Gutenberg-Museum MOVED 2024Mainz
Client: Landeshauptstadt Mainz, Gebäudewirtschaft & Gutenberg Museum Size (sqm): 650
Gutenberg – a name synonymous with one of humanity's most revolutionary inventions: printing with movable type. The interim exhibition, GUTENBERG MUSEUM MOVED, designed by ATELIER BRÜCKNER, explores Gutenberg's life and enduring legacy in relation to today’s media landscape. The Gutenberg Bibles, showcased in their own dedicated treasure chamber, stand at the heart of the exhibition.
ATELIER BRÜCKNER was responsible for the exhibition, graphic, and media design. Typefaces and typography take center stage in the scenography, creating a bold contrast between modern, freestanding furniture and the historic setting of the former St. Clare convent.
