Wagenhallen 2020Stuttgart
The Wagenhallen in Stuttgart have been renovated and are kept as an attractive location. The former locomotive sheds, erected from 1895 onwards, are renowned for their cultural usage far beyond the boundaries of the state capital. The original shape of the Wagenhallen has been cut out of the existing ensemble, where the original substance of the building has been carefully restored and the living surfaces retained. The colour-reduced materials chosen for the necessary new fixtures and structural additions provide a contrast to the outer brick walls and the historical load-bearing structure made of steel. In this way, the different time layers are made legible.
